2017 Mitsubishi Outlander Price Review and Release Date
2017 Mitsubishi Outlander Price Review and Release Date - As promised, the 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV will be released in a dealership near you. The long anticipated plug-in Hybrid model of the popular utility vehicle will be released as early as spring 2016, although the vehicle itself is being billed as a 2017 model. Nevertheless, the eco-friendly SVU is finally here, after nearly six years of wait, and there is certainly a lot to be excited about.
Exterior 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander
The concept for the Outlander PHEV first debuted back in 2009, and since then it has hardly changed in terms of design. The front fascia is almost the exact replica of the concept, while the back side of the vehicle takes some subtle cues from the off-road-oriented Pajero Sport, most noticeably, the tail lamp design. Another noticeable change from the original is the handlebar-shaped chrome trim placed under the windshield, that compared to the old horizontal chrome bar that connected the clear taillights, gives the new SUV a better visual identity.

Interior 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander
A slight downside of this new PHEV version is one entire row of seats less than it has been the case with the previous generations. This is due to the addition of the inverters and the rear electric motor system. Nevertheless, the cabin stays quite sizeable, offering ample amount of head and leg room in both remaining rows of seats. Something that Mitsubishi hasn’t elaborated on, but that is bound to be copied straight from the original concept is the interior design. Not that that is a bad thing, since the cabin design on the original was nothing short of satisfactory.

Engine 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander
The powertrain alignment for the 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander is comprised of a 2.0 liter four-cylinder engine and two all electric motors. The first motor will, along with the 2.0 liter, send power to the front wheels, while the second will do the same for the rear wheels. According to European estimations the Plug-in Hybrid Outlander will be have an all-electric driving range of 32.5 miles and a total conjoined, petrol and electric range of just over 500 miles. The vehicle will also have the ability to completely charge the battery while still driving thanks to its charge-restoring mode.
